UPDATE
12/7/09:
Both Island Drug stores have plentiful H1N1 Vaccine Supplies and as
shown here ANYONE who wishes
to receive the vaccine can do so now!!!!
Here is the posted
Island County Department of Health criteria to receive the vaccine
as of today:
ATTENTION:
As of noon Monday, 7 December, Island
County Public Health is removing all restrictions on administering
the H1N1 vaccine in Island County.
The vaccines were
heretofore offered on a priority basis to those considered most at
risk from serious effects H1N1 viral infection, and to those
providing critical infrastructure services to our community.
To the best of our knowledge, these groups
have now received the vaccine to the extent of their interest in
obtaining the vaccine, and
local supplies now permit offering the vaccine to any who wish
to receive it.
Both locations have both the Nasal
(live virus) and Injectable (inactivated virus) formulations of the
H1N1 vaccine.
To save time
in the store, these forms can be downloaded and filled out:
all are in pdf format

What You Can Do to Stay Healthy
There are everyday actions people can take to stay
healthy.
- Cover your nose and mouth with a tissue when you cough or
sneeze. Throw the tissue in the trash after you use it.
- Wash your hands often with soap and water, especially after
you cough or sneeze. Alcohol-based hands cleaners are also
effective.
- Avoid touching your eyes, nose or mouth. Germs spread that
way.
Try to avoid close contact with sick people.
- Influenza is thought to spread mainly person-to-person
through coughing or sneezing of infected people.
- If you get sick, CDC recommends that you stay home from work
or school and limit contact with others to keep from infecting
them.
